Theater trip

On Tuesday the 19 in 2017 we were going to the thearter. I was super excited because I wanted to look at their costumes and what it looks like in the theater. When we got to the theater we had to sit down in the entrance to sort out our groups. Our groups were just in our tag teachers.(I am with Nicole)
Our first session was performance. I was a manager and my job was doing the costumes. After that we saw Issy,Joel and agela doing an act. It was based around sound affects in the acted. They did live music and looped music.
After lunch we played follow the leader and looked at technology to help distabled people. It inspired me to desighn something to help people who can't walk.

Immersion w/Jess and Sarah

In week sevan I was in group four for immersion. We had to go to Sarah and Jess's performance class.
On the first day we went to LC8 and brain stormed what performance and drama means. After that we had to go down to the gym. When we were at the gym Jess made us play try not laugh game. We had to be in a line and when it's your turn you have to try and make person laugh. if you do make them laugh you get to be the person who try's not laugh. The. Next day we meet at LC8 again and went to the gym. Sarah talked about dance. we watched people dance and we saw their emotions and that there is a story behind dancing. We also looked at a sheet on some of the dance moves. Then on Thursday we meet in the gym. We talked about drama. We did a play I was in a group and our act was that people are sorts of different candy. The audience like our performance. Then we started on Amy's immersion. We went to the park because in Amy's immersion we have to think of a play ground. We also went to think of ideas for the play ground.

Research-projects

26/7/17  Today Natsha I had to go to a workshop for projects. We had to fill out the project planner template. Before the workshop even started Natasha and I already finished the project planner temple.
When we went we told Nicole we had finished the project planner template. She said nice then she said to start to research.

Project Planning Template

Projects

Natasha and I have finished our research and now going to start to exsperment for projects.

Bath bomb research
Ingredients
1 cup Citric acid ($2.80 1kg)
2 cups baking soda ($9.00 400g x3)
20-30 drops Essential oil ($3.00 750ml)

Research Question: What does each ingredient in bath bombs do?
Our summary:
Bath bombs are very relaxing to sit in. The bath bombs will make your skin very soft after your bath because it contains essential oil. When you put a bath bomb in the warm water a chemical reaction occurs. The citric acid and the warm water makes a reaction and makes the bath bomb very fizzy and colorful from the food coloring. It also smells nice if there is peppermint essence or vanilla essence. Bath bombs are also relaxing when you can see and smell the bath bomb. It is also really fun to look at.

Our hypothesis
We think that the more citric acid we put in the bath will fizz for longer because, the citric acid and the water make a reaction to fizz with the baking soda to make it fizz for longer.

Bibliography:

What is a bath bomb?
Bath bombs are designed to take relaxing bath time to a completely new level.  A bath bomb is best described as fireworks for you bath.  You drop the bomb in your warm bath and it will begin to fizz, and bubble with colors and scents of nature.  Some have a little sparkle, some flower petals, and some just plain make you feel and smell good.  All contain natural moisturizers of coconut oil and cocoa butter.  All contain therapeutic essential oils and restorative Epsom salts.

When acids and bases come into contact with one another, a chemical reaction occurs. Follow the instructions below to make a fun bath-time chemical reaction with a Fizzy Bath Bomb. Acids and bases are substances that break down into ions (charged atoms) and other compounds when placed in water. Acids break down into hydrogen ions (H+) and bases break down into hydroxide ions (OH-). Many acids taste and smell sour (like vinegar). Bases often have a bitter, soapy taste (like baking soda). NEVER taste a chemical! If you want to know if something is an acid or a base, you can look on the label, ask an adult, research it on the Internet, or test it with cabbage juice (see the Invisible Ink experiment for details). https://ingeniumcanada.org/scitech/education/try-this-out-incredible-chemical-spectacles-fizzy-bath-bombs.php

Background
Bath bombs can have a wide range of ingredients, including bath salts (which can help sooth muscles), food coloring, fragrances and other components. There are, however, a few key ingredients that most homemade recipes have: baking soda and citric acid. Why is this? When baking soda and citric acid are mixed and are then put in water, they undergo a chemical reaction. The reaction produces lots of bubbles, which you see as the bath bomb dissolves in the water. These bubbles that make the water become so fizzy are made of carbon dioxide gas.

The start of projects

On the 25/7/17 Nicole and Amy talked about starting new projects. The projects is related to science.
There was three options, tech, science badges and science fair. I choose science fair because it sounded interesting. In the science fair you can also have a partner. Natasha was also interested in the science fair. So we teamed up to do the science fair together. There was link to options for ideas and questions. Natasha and I went on there and we went on ideas. We had to fill out a serve so then we could have had recommended ideas. We weren't really interested in the recommended ideas. Then we just looked at other ideas what weren't recommended ideas. After scrolling and looking at ideas we finally found one what we liked and agreed on. The idea is using bath bomb science! Our question is...What will happen if we put more citric acid in the bath bombs? We had to copy a project planner template. Project planner template That is our progress so far for science fair projects.

Reading test

In the morning I finished my planning and started todo math buddy. But then Nicole called me over because I had todo a reading test. I was super nervousness that I was basically shaking (just a little bit). When I read the text Nicole asked me some questions so I answered them. She said I passed and I will need todo another test so I said ok.I did another one with Nicole and passed that one to.
Nicole said do you read at home and I said yes I do. So then I had todo another one and I passed that one to I was just like wow but I just said in my head. When I finished the question for the text Nicole finally found the right stage for me. I was like yay because that took a long time.
After 5 reading test I was very proud of my because I knew that I was practicing hard and I could see that because I had todo 5 reading test.
